meet the artist
Kate Fagan is a South Carolina-based painter whose landscapes capture the ephemeral intersection of place and time. Kate holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary where she concentrated on the relationship between theology and the arts, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in oil painting from Clemson University.
Kate’s work speaks to the intertwined relationship between the sacred and the material, and holds with reverence the sanctity of a fleeting moment in time. Her work invites viewers to consider themes of home, history, and belonging.
Her artistic achievements include the prestigious Bob Hunter Award in Undergraduate Fine Arts Studio, recognizing her outstanding creativity and technical excellence, and a purchase award from Furman University for her oil painting Transition, which now resides in the university’s permanent collection.
Kate currently resides in Greenville, South Carolina.
